I'm not really concerned about Big Brother counting my calories. Something like this is so much more of a threat to liberties and personal privacy.

The war between librals and conservatives (or neocons) has emerged with a vivid impact in American politics.

I'm curious, how much is it observed there, the 'missuse' of the Patriot Act?

Jeech, much of the patriot act is misuse of a citizen and their rights. It's happened before when people are scared enough:

The Red Scare of the 1950s

Internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry in camps

What's worse about this is there seems to be no going back. Much of the loss of privacy is insidious and invisible. But, it is so open to abuse that there should be outrage. That there isn't much of that is what is really scary.

Government, being athoritative on resourses specially in this age of advancements in technologies, when every other person is accessible to some intelligent devices and tools, how can it be possible to avoide to get spied?

Very old times ago Adam and Eve were establishing the ethos such as dressing codes, later on with civilisational complexities, people started vieling their doors and windows. So as they started more secure doors and windows as long as they get into the much more complexities of human civilisation. I see, all it was a breaking the privacy code by an 'A' that ever was tried to secure by 'B'. I think there is no better asurance of walling privacy than making government to conduct the ethical codes. A more simple civilisation is what which abide ethical codes.

Sorry this just made me laugh, old age cynicism I guess, but you know they are just gonna have to get over it, this is old news, different target group, in the '60s it was anti war and civil rights activists, Not just the FBI either, the CIA as well.

Question authority, before it questions you. How do you know, that you know, what you know?

Yeah, and the antiwars of the 60s are known as heroes and heroins of their country/ies. Right?

What do you mean by 'neocon', Jeech? Are you saying that the words 'conservative' and 'neocon' mean the came thing?

Peace movement?

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

What ethos? It was out of necessity that they fashioned protective attire against the inclement elements after being forced out from under the sheltering foliage of the Garden.

Mayor Bloomberg (predictably) defended the actions of NYPD.

Chris Christie Governor of New Jersey, has disagreed, along with various University Presidents.

It's not enough that they were engaging in this kind of systematic profiling in NYC. They did it all over the Northeastern US. This includes the University of Buffalo, 300 miles as the spook flies from the Big Apple.

Never mind the politicians and Ivy League types...I'm guessing that law enforcement in the various jurisdictions that they did this snooping in were less than thrilled.

Good point, but there, Adam and Eve, I meant, human civilisation at it's early stage.
