Who do you blame if lightning strikes you right on your head?

I am always amazed at the level of anger on their streets.

Religions fervour doesn't seem to make for happiness and a good disposition.

Our churches seem to be getting fewer and fewer patrons (or is that a Pub word), of aged citizens.

The quickest way to get an argument in Australia is support the wrong football team, or call soccer, football.

No I don't think we can reach World Disarmament, everyone wants a bigger and bigger gun.

I personally would like a Derringer, preferably engraved silver, blast our hand gun laws!!!

thank you AFB, that was so funny.

I only want my Derringer as a fashion accessory, would go so well with basic black and sterling silver! and a glass of Sav Blanc.

Make mine a double Sav. Please don't pull the Derringer. I come in peace. I have an empty glass, but I come in peace.

Always more Sav in the bottle for a weary traveller and the Derringer isn't loaded, just a talking point for aficionados.

Wouldn't the obvious answer to that question be, pay off the previous wars, look after the war veterans, bring the budget back to surplus,

and turn the other cheek?

Tov,

The best answer is to never expose your cheek at all! All nuclear logic is illogic. It's a weapon that cannot be used, towards ends that cannot be achieved, against an enemy that similarly cannot use his own suicide weapon.

Bringing us back to your point: healing the wounds...the debts of other misbegotten wars.

This takes us to the true question.

We are in a nuclear tomb. Jesus, Muhammad, the Buddah, the Hebrew Prophets raised their hands and drew us forth from the tomb of our ignorance, from our bigotry, from our greed and power-lust:

and bid Lazarus, to come forth. We have to find a way. If we don't learn to see our brother and sisterhood in each other, we'll surely press the button.

No amount of swagger, no amount of national jingoism, no amount of bluster will excuse that sin:

that you'd rather score political, or religious points rather than make the world that the God you pretend to love is fond of better. You'd rather destroy his creation...in his name....good luck supporting that in heaven.

Whatever the faith it is you've brought your message from, it's great.Applause

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – Iran's state TV described the country's first foreign film Oscar win Monday as a victory over archfoe Israel, a rare nod of approval toward a movie industry often criticized by Iranian hardliners.

I know a few Iranians and without exception I have found then to be educated and polite. The majority of Iranians are moderates, and decent folk. I am glad they won an Oscar and say hats up to those who awarded it and did not let prejudice prevent fairness of judgment.

I feel for the common mazn in Iran... they deserve a better leadership.

In time the present Iranian regime will fall, and moderates will take over... it always happens.

Let the idiotic, banner waving nationalists, wave all they like the flag of prejudice and hate... but they should remember it displays a lack of intelligence. The Iranians are no better or any worse that the Israelies.

I've seen some very good Iranian films on our TV, full of empathy and humanity.
It was no surprise this particular film won the prize, it deserved it.

Nor was I J.J. I new a number of Iranians while I was at school, Persian culture is very rich, and very old, I have absolutely no problem with with rational, sane, Iranians; however, what is coming out of their government and state approved agencies right now, is as I said rather colloquially above, certifiably insane, therefore, I feel there is a very strong case for limiting that governments ability to pursue insane goals. It is saddening and regrettable that innocent individuals within Iran are suffering because of their government. There were a lot of good Germans in Nazi Germany as well.
So just to be clear, I think it's great that an Iranian film won an Oscar; however, what's nuts is the government thinking it qualifies as some sort of victory over Israel.

I know lots of Iranians living here. Muslims, Zoroastrians, Christians, whatever - Persians, Kurds, and Armenians - who cares. I just watched a documentary of an Iranian man who put up a street kitchen in Svalbard to sell kebab there. He was abandoned from Norway but Svalbard follows only international laws.

The document also kicked our Scandinavian asses to check our regulations on our immigrant and refugee laws.

If Iran had a Nuke and some Al Qaeda insurgents got into the system and fired it at, say,Israel, who do you Nuke back?

Israel would nuke Iran, they would not believe for an instant it was the work of insurgents.

And yet they appear to have a significant covert presence on the ground in Iran, when they can identify, track and assassinate a Nuclear Scientist there. Many people would not believe the Israelis if they claimed Iran was complicit.

So? Do you really think they care what other nations thought? No one could prove it, it would be their story and they would stick too it. Even in the extremely unlikely event that they admitted to the possibility it wasn't the work of the government, wait.... on second thought they would never admit that, why would they? The leaders of Iran have said that wiping Israel from the face of the Earth is an objective of theirs. Then "opps, someone used one of our nukes to strike Israel." Israel is still going to retaliate for the ennoblement if nothing else, and certainly so that it can not happen again.

I don't get it, whether the story explains the Iranian butts or their gutts??

I some ways, I agree with Ron Paul, though I am obviously not a libertarian. Leave them alone. Let them do what they wish as long as they have not shown aggression towards the United States. We should save our resources for more social programs, raising the standard of living for those on the bottom, while justifiably lowering that of those at the top.
