I think we could celebrate Verne's birthday (1828) in Science section of this forum ;-)

Absolutely! Happy Birthday to the first and one of the greatest of all science fiction writers. I spent many a happy afternoon reading his works when I was growing up.

Laura Ingalls Wilder! Have not heard about her for a while. I read every one of her books as a child and loved Michael Landon and Karen Grassie in the series. Melissa Gilbert as Laura was terrific.

My first movie at the theater was Journey to the Center of the Earth. It scared me! My late husband loved his stories.

That is interesting! I liked the movie and did not find it very scary at all! :)

My favorite book of all time is Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea from the author Jules Verne. This is a fitting way to pay tribute to one of the best authors ever.
