I can see many vocabulary and grammar problems in this statement.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

@JJ, looks like they want food first, before they learn their grammar lessons!

shivanand wrote:@JJ, looks like they want food first, before they learn their grammar lessons! Here you've gone disgusting my dear! If you only attacked the poster it wouldn't have been that devastating. You need to explain "they". Who really are you targeting with such a derogative remarks? The discourse of your statement contains racial hatred. I hope, you will explain that you didn't mean it. *It's wonderful to know that all languages are Greek if not understood. *

Reason for my slightly sarcastic comment was the notion that this post was originally put in Vocabulary section (and now moved in Politics).

I can see no wrong with either JJ post or Shivand's... just a difference of emphasis.
Where you see racism Jeech I cannot understand. Shivand was merely pointing out that in his opinion the Yemenis needed food more than they needed grammar lessons. JJ was focusing on the poor grammar of the original poster.

I didn't address JJ. He has been fine telling laila for her abstract english. It was even pleasent to 'tickle' her to respond.
Disgusting is that "they" is considered starving for food where laila didn't appear as Yemeni but "ny."
If anybody responded with the same words to shivanad for his bad French or German or Arabic or Persian I would have been the first to slam the generalisation.
By the way, non of us has yet responded to the OP.

The people of Yemen now wait for the presidential elections to be held in a couple of weeks.

It's coincidence or what, we too are protesting against our electorial regime. You"ll notice from Pakistan to the Morocco entire the landscape has a wave of political unrest. Yemen shares a little part of the thrill.

laila rocks wrote:is yemen gonna stay like that ...no government ,protesting everyday ,people die....where is the united nations The United Nations is only concerned with the United Nations. Their primary goal is to increase their own power base. Now they want to implement a global tax to help the poor. At best, this is just another way to 'redistribute the wealth', and at worst a way to infuse the private bank accounts of the leadership of the U.N. The United States should withdraw from this body completely.

Maggie, do you have any facts to support your throw?

If you disagree JJ, then tell me why you think such a tax is NOT a redistribution of wealth. The corruption that has existed within the United Nations is legendary and needs no documentation. For those who are unfamiliar, just Google it. And finally, the fact that the UN is, for the most part, an anti-American organization is illustrated in the decisions they make. Google offers endless examples. Here are two web references of many. Anti American UNAnti American UN - No. 2

Maggie, I didn't disagree, I just asked, and, after reading your comment and seen your reliable sources, I don't even have to disagree but wonder. Thinking Catholic Strategic Center says it all.

What example was given that is incorrect? If my 'reliable' sources are not accurate, then prove that they were wrong. SilvatungdaViel, this thread is about Yemen people's uprising, not about Israel and USA.

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and dare say that you have not watched all these videos in 6 minutes and your reply is a knee-jerk reaction and therefore you're shooting from the hip with a thoughtless comment.
Perhaps some type of reigns needs to be applied to the US since it seems our government's strings are being pulled by another entity with its own vested interests and agenda at the cost of the lives of many thousands of our troops and civilians as well as billions of bucks from a struggling economy.

I didn't ask why. I asked 'how'. We're still waiting to know how your videos relate to this thread. What Israel has or has not done, whether the U.S. and Israel are complicit in secret activities seems irrelevant to the issue at hand. If it isn't, please enlighten us.

Thanks JJ, I think she's only his mother and no one else. You know her body language and size, and how modestly (I'd say instead of conservatively) she has packed herself while he and the other boy are quite naked. Only a mother can hold the way... and it's the only way to feel their sufferings.

Logic at its best, Maggie. What has anti-American UN to do with this case of Yemen uprising?

Lack of attention at it's best, JJ. Perhaps you've been distracted by the thread on Iran. Clearly you didn't read the introductory offering to this one. It ended with 'where is the UN?" I answered THAT part of the question. The UN, as I said in my response, is busy building it's own power base. The additional comment suggesting the U.S. should withdraw from the U.N. was just that - an addition - a common transgression that every regular on these fora has committed. It was a logical -and appropriate- response.
