Malaria Deaths May Be Double WHO EstimatesA new study from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation suggests that the number of malaria deaths in 2010 was twice as high as the World Health Organization (WHO) estimate of 655,000. One of the many benefits of banning DDT.
We've protected birds and at the same time done something about human overpopulation.

@ FounDit..That is the first thing I thought of. I remember reading that WHO's banning of DDT (before an effective replacement could be found) caused the death of over a million people from Malaria. It has been said that evil is 'compulsive destruction' and that is what we get when the news media acts as the PR agent and hit man for the lunatics in government. The same lunacy occurred in the San Joaquin a couple of summers ago when they cut off the water supply to the most productive farm lands in the country to save a minnow that was not even native to the area. Many farm workers and farmers were almost driven to extinction.
