Thank you everyone for the pictures of the frozen world. It seems so cold, so dense, and so asleep...so beautiful in its ice.

Beautiful pictures JJ of the world of snow.
Thar, the music and video very moving and achingly beautiful.
What can we do about the earth? How can we protect and preserve it? How can we nurture and regenerate its majesty?

Thar's wonderful video makes me think of David Attenborough's "What a Wonderful World" with pictures taken from his remarkable documentary series about nature.

I'm glad you like video, thanks, thar. :) There are a few pictures from David Attenborough's last TV series "Frozen Planet" in that video. I really like the series, and recommend to watch it. Hope it counts like the frozen scenery - the snowmen army. I guess they protest against global warming.

What can we do about the earth? How can we protect and preserve it? How can we nurture and regenerate its majesty? I share your sentiments and your concerns, Marissa. But we can't protect and preserve the Earth as though it were our private garden. Our best efforts are little more than weeding. We must allow the overwhelming forces of nature to shape our beautiful planet and learn to appreciate it in its changing form. It is a world without end in space and time and future generations will wonder at its glory as we do today.

To Jaco: I appreciate your thoughts and sentiments--and agree with them...but it isn't the changing of our planet's form that I grieve for; I grieve for its destruction.

just read a post about someone shovelling snow in Japan !! - we haven't had much here in UK, at the moment, some on the hills up North of course, and I saw a car covered in snow driving through my village, amazing. Don't grieve Marissa, there is a lot of beauty in our planet, and we can only try........ I live in my own little world, but it's OK - they know me here...
