Hi everyone,

When I have tried open some link , the following happens: first, I face page at which I am asked to install the Silverlight to watch that video, although it was installed on my computer. Anyhow, I have clicked on the "install" button. Then, I noticed this message"You are running on a browser that may not be fully compatible with Microsoft Silverlight. You can still try to install by clicking below or you can refer to the System Requirements for more information."

After that, in that page whose picture is above I clicked on the " install for Windows" link Next, I was seeing the installing of Silveright was being processed, however, it has been Interrupted and showed me another page at which was written the Silverlight is really installed.

Just a suggestion regarding the images that you post.
Would you please keep them at a size that will fit on the forum page.
As you will have noticed, when ever an oversized image is posted, then the whole thread takes on that width, which means having to slide the page >>>>>>> to read the end of a line, and, <<<<< back again to read the beginning of the next line.

This applies to 'all images' for those who wonder why the page takes on 'extra width' after posting.Angel

You wouldn't happen to be running Windows 7 and IE 9 in 64-bit mode?

It is installed but runs only in 32-bit mode.

"Message 1514" is a debug error code. You can check with Microsoft to verify that this indicates a run time mode error.

From Start Menu > All programs
you can choose whether to start IE 64 bit or IE (32 bit).
Try the 32 bit version.

How can I do that? Becasue when I want to post a picture I do the following steps: first, I capture a screenshot which I want to post through the "Prt-Sc" button in my keybord. Then paste them in the Paint and save them. After that, I upload it to my account on the Imageshack.com. Finally, I copy its direct lik and insert it in the forum.

Could you possibly give me another ideas?

Only I have one mode (a 64-bit IE)

Thanks a lot, only there is two results and there isn't "Interner Explorer" but Internet Explorer (64 bit) and Internet Explorer (without Add-ons)

Might it because my system is Arabic version?

This the picture:

However, the strange thing when I choose the IE that is without Add-ones and I enter any URL in it I notice the URL opens. Why when I open anyone URL in both of IE-64 and the other (without Add-ones) I notice it opens?
Only the problem is how can I make the Silvelight program install on the 32-bit IE because I have got a Silvelight program(Silverlight_Developer_x64) which is specific for the 64-bit IE

Could you possibly send me a link of a silverlight of the othere mode and how can I let it install specifically on the 32-bit IE?

A cooperator, you can resize in 'Paint', and, ImageShack also gives you the choice of size which you can select.

ImageShack shows [Image resize:] from which you select the size you need to post from a drop box. The sizes are below. I have my 'ImageShack' size set at 800X600.

100x75 (avatar), 150x112 (thumbnail), 320x240 (for websites and email), 640x480 (for message boards), 800x600 (15-inch monitor),

Hope this is of assistance to you.

Maybe you might be better off by uninstalling your version of Silverlight and restart from the beginning??????????????
This is my computers url to the home page, and, you can reload from there, but, being very careful how you follow download instructions.
I would open and read each page before I 'uninstalled' and started to download. There are lots of problem solving tecniques available.

Yes, thanks a lot, but I think the picture will not shown

As you see, I have trid taking another link for 150x112 (thumbnail), but the pictur is not shown.

Would you mind sending me the steps with the pictures to simple the process for choosing the suitable size of the picture, becuse whenever I try choosing another difference from what I am used to choosing I notice that the pictur doesn't appear.

Is the last picturs suitable?but I think it is small

And I find out at Embed thumbnails of this image that the links which in the box of "Alt Forum" don't show up.

If I right click on the first image of this picture which you have posted, and then click on 'open link' then I get a 'live copy' of what you have posted. I can put the curser on magnify which brings the picture up to the right size, and it is also a lot clearer to see.

If I open the live link, then I get the same result. I am using Windows 7.

Not sure what you are doing and if you are not on the same system as me then I would only be explaining what you may not see.

You must have an 'ImageShack' account, change size of image in it to 800X600 before you copy the source of your picture into it.

The link you had posted was working,it is now gone from your post and I cannot get back to it??

You should be able to see this image.^^^ I put it in a file and reloaded it through my account.
This is the same size as is appearing in your posts.

The first image below where you wrote;
Yes, thanks a lot, but I think the picture will not shown

Is a live link,[your cursor should change to a hand when over it] the others were all 'dead' or just a box with the red X. I can right click on them and copy the url though?

You posted two URL's which, as I said, I could open. They are now not in your post so you may have edited them out.
I have recovered the url from the failed image; http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/849/pdf1.png Now you can right click on it, and click on 'open' in the window, which will open it, and then magnify as I said in my last post.

I have no idea why you cannot change image size in ImageShack!!!!!

Ah! One of the squares with a red X gave me this; http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/silnn.png which opens what you posted before about 'internet explorer' at 3.52pm. That image appears to be the right size.
The width of the thread will stay the same as the widest image posted, so, all of the rest of this thread will not change width regardless of what is posted.I think that what ever you did for this image is correct? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/silnn.png

You could also use Windows Snipping Tool (found in XP, Vista, and Windows 7).
If you can't find it in Start Menu search for snippingtool.exe

If I am reading this correctly, you have installed a developer preview of version 5. As far as I know version 5 is still being tested and has just achieved release candidate status, so some problems are to be expected.

Please start here and the web page should automatically detect which version you need.

http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx

I think you will need to uninstall your current version first, but check with Microsoft to be sure.

Otherwise, since version 5 seems near to approval for general release, you might want to just wait a week or two, if you don't have an urgent need for it today. By that time it is very likely that Microsoft will have an installer that is compatible with both versions of IE.

Second: That picture for me it seemes to be shown up, however I see it very small and the viewer will not see it clearly and maybe he will not able to find out about that picuter is.
Finally: I want the pictur to be shown up and don't want to put its link.

The instructions say to check the system requirements and that you need to uninstall the previous version before downloading. Were you not able to uninstall successfully?

I am still not sure what you mean by "(IE without add-ones)"; is that how the version that is not 64-bit is described in your language?

A cooperator, If you google "silverlight message ID: 1514", you will find that 1514 is a common problem and there are several sites with correct procedure on how to uninstall and then install it correctly. Please do this.
This one is 'the one' that may help you the most?????
www.microsoft.com/GetSilverlight/resources/help.aspx?errorid=1514

It has been suggested to you,[twice?] that you uninstall silverlight and re-install.

As there seems to be quite a few problems with silverlight 'in certain situations' I think that you need to determine whether or not you need this program. If you do need the functions that it performs, then I suggest that you look to see if there is a more compatible program.

You have a lot of programs installed on your computer [I can see them on the page you posted showing 'the uninstaller'].You may have conflicting programs???????

RE: when you go to post an image through ImageShack, and all that you see is a 'frog', then you must have an error in this program.
The 'frog' is ImageShacks logo and I can only suggest that it 'appears if you not followed correct procedure'. Are you sure that you have registered correctly???

I am sorry to say that I have no further suggestions to make other than what you have been advised of by people on this forum.

You may have to take the computer to a specialist to get them to check it out for 'incompatible programs' that you may have installed, or have running.

If I right click the first image of this picture have been published, then click "Open Link" then I get a "live copy" of what they have published. I can place the cursor in leading magnify the image to the right size, and is also much clearer to see.

If I open a live link, then I get the same result. I'm using Windows 7.

Not sure what you are doing and if you are on the same system that I then only explains what you can not see.

You must have a 'ImageShack' account, change the image size to 800X600 it before copying the source code of your image on it.

"Uninstall" and "Re-install" are very sound procedures.

which will explain perfectly this"I am still not sure what you mean by "(IE without add-ones)"; is that how the version that is not 64-bit is described in your language?". However that I meant that I only have two modes of IE one is IE-64 but the other seems to be without any add-ons, so I called it as the picture shows it as an IE without "add-ons". I mean I hadn't found any a 32-bit IE on my system, this is very quite strange.

Does the extra-large size of this thread have any connection to the discussion Marissa and RuthP are involved in?
Ray41 & lAzul offered advice here. Can I shrink the size of this "Silverlight" thread?

You can probably 'zoom out' or '-' the view. If you are looking at this on a screen which is oriented horizontally, you may be able to get the entire width on-screen and still have legible text. My browser is on a vertical screen (oriented like a piece of notebook paper) and the type is too eeny-weenie by the time I get the entire width on the screen. (I tried, just for this answer. d'oh! )

The problem here is the width of some of the images. Images are not compressible here, though they shrink proportionally with the 'zoom out' or '-' feature. The link would need to be to a smaller-size image to reduce the size of the image without shrinking the entire page.

When I post images, I "view image" before posting, to make sure the size isn't too large.

That's it, and further up-thread we discussed ways to bring that under control with A cooperator.

The problem is further compounded by the fact that the preview is not always reliable and can give a false sense of the resulting size, as I have discovered to my own embarrassment. Anxious The only reliable way is to use a graphic editor to verify or resize the file to around 800 pixels in width, certainly no more than 1024 px if the extra detail is needed.
