One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action, and filled with noble risks, is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum.

Rubbish.

"Supposin' I was to go to work and learn how to... to read writin'. Well, how'd I know that the feller that... that wrote the writin' was a writin' the writin' right? See it could be that he wrote the writin' all wrong. Here I'd be just a readin' wrong writin', don't ya see? You probably been doin' it your whole life, just a readin' wrong writin' and not even knowin‘ it." Festus

In Italy we have a say: "better one day ad a lion than 100 days as a sheep." It's a typically romantic attitude, but it doensn't possibly apply to everyday life. Besides, it seems really dangerous and a bit on the "terrorist" side, don't you think?

Fama di loro il mondo esser non lassa/misericordia e giustizia li sdegna/non ragioniam di lor, ma guarda e passa (Dante, Commedia)

Didn't we already had this quote on another day?

Little drops of water~Little grains of sand~Make the mighty ocean~And the pleasant land~So the little moments~Humble though they be~Make the mighty ages ~Of Eternity/by Julia Fletcher Carney

I frequent this site, given its remarkable ability to stimulate the mind. The re-posting of today's quote is cause to reconsider. Have we reached the bottom of the quotes barrell?

I think I'd think that way during that one hour, but be hurting during the eternity before and after. If nothing else, I'd be bored and ennui and despondence are just a slippery slope away

Hmmm, very interesting. I have been aware for some time that words in TFD's match-up game tend to re-appear as well. I'm thinking this quote repetition was just an error though.

By my count, TFDers disagree with Sir Wally by a 4:1 ratio. So let me make that 4:2. I think he was absolutely correct.

It's the Thespian faction within TFD to see if we're paying attention, not to worry.

Sometimes a quote gets repeated often but I haven't seen too many on here twice.
