Well they have to be some of the most hateful and uneducated people I have seen in my life. They are rude, intolerant, unreasonable, and double standardous. They expect everyone to tolerate and be n ice to them, but they dont respect anyone. Last I checked its for all religions and spiritualities. Not just brainwashed fundies.

Do you sense the redundancy in your question?

turess, I long ago stopped expecting opponents to be nice to me when the subject of religion is being discussed. However it sometimes helps if you are nice to them. Try it.

If they appear aggressive to you, turn your other cheek, and see what happens.

The difference between brain and car washing is that the former in general does not become cleaner nor clearer.

It reminds me an old story inwhich a king is told that they are only idiots who can't see a specially prepared dress the king wear.

It's called " The Emperor's New Clothes ", Jeech. @ Gabh : With four cheeks to choose from it just takes too long to decide ! It is sad, however, that mutual respect is so often the paschal lamb on the altar of sectarian arrogance. For a lighter take on the subject : I was in San Francicsco one day... Sanity is not statistical

26letters writes: Wow! I haven't been here for a while so maybe I've missed something, but somehow your post about "hateful, uneducated, rude, intolerant, unreasonable, double standardous (is that even a word?), brainwashed and idiots" doesn't exactly come across as unbiased. It would help if you could supply a few examples of these evil people.
It's unfortunate that the word "brainwashed" is used so loosely anymore. Does anybody even understand the actual methods behind brainwashing? It's not your typical television depiction. People who are brainwashed need to be sequestered from society in order to maintain that state of mind. Otherwise they will be subjected to what is commonly known as "reasoning".
The world has become so anti religious that for anyone to survive as a "religious" person anymore, they have to practically run the gauntlet. If you can get through the ridicule, doubts, insults, persecution, etc., I think it's safe to say you are not "brainwashed".
turess, I know nothing about you and I hate to think that my first impression of you is going to be a very negative one.

I do agree with you that the OP is definitely just as bad as that which it rails against, but in this country the bias is still far more with theists, than against them. Just check out the news story in politics under, Zeus Protect Us.

Are you suggesting a lobotomy as if you are a Nurse Ratched? Of course not. I'm suggesting that his frontal lobes have not yet closed. It's an 'age' thing. Google will give you all the information you may need on that subject.
