Kindly clear the following head published in Financial Time today.
MINOR EXPECT PROTRACTED FALL IN SECTOR SHARES TO LURE PREDATOR.

What is meant by predator here.
Thanks.

Do you have a link to the article? It's hard to tell without seeing the lead paragraph. I suspect "Predator" refers to the company that manufactures the drone aircraft, but that's just a guess. It could just mean aggressive buyers, but then I'm not clear on what "minor" would be....

Miners expect protracted fall in sector shares to lure predators -

mining execs expect pick up in dealmaking following 40% falls in past 10 months to flush out

it is not minor, it is miners. ie predators (like sharks) are going to target mining companies.

don't know where you got this from, dub, but if it was like that when you got it, ignore that source in future, it is bsd. If not, you will have to be more exact in what you transcribe, because the original statement as posted made little sense, especially without context! So, no wonder it was confusing!

Ah, right. That makes a lot more sense.
