Dried brewers' grain is defined in (SI 1988 No.398 Agriculture, The Feeding Stuff Regulations 1988) as by-product of brewing obtained by drying residues of malted and unmalted cereals and other starchy matter. And this may be mostly understood with the one though somewhat important unknown relating to "starchy matter". And if used, as a clarification, act SI 2014 No.1603 Education, England, The Requirements for School Food Regulations 2014, in Schedule 1 entitled Food Groups, there is something interesting as calling for solution. No more no less, starchy food has been explained there as not only all types of breed, pasta, noodles, rice, potatoes, yarns, millet and cornmeal. What might be deemed as of utmost interest for attentive consumer is including all types of bread with no added fat or oil in this category of starchy food. To solve the problem of separation while having mutual interest, some highly respected scholars active in the field of advanced brewing (source of citation will not be included here, sorry) recommend dipping starchy bread in olive and water down with a beer.

A lot of foods are also described as starchy.
