Here is an apt quote:
We are drowning in information but starved for knowledge.
John Naisbitt

This statement is very very apposite with regard to the tonnes and tonnes of information, right from how a matchstick is made to how a spacecraft works, people here forward at the drop of a hat.
Could I have your views please? Thank you.

It's a way of saying that with the coming of the Internet we are bombarded with information; but that many people don't have the ability or the skills to discern what is true and what isn't.

So they just believe whatever information comes their way - most of it non-factual garbage. Thus they have no way of gaining knowledge. Just whole collections of incorrect information because they've unfortunately not been taught how do discern truth. (Or are too lazy!!)

All this info is freely available but we are not necessarily being educated by it.
