Hello respect teachers,

Is the following national English?

A private school benefits some sections of
school-age populations only.

The custom of speaking is the original and only just standard of any language. Joseph Priestly- Rudiments of EG, 1761.

It's not natural.

To begin with, "only" is in the wrong place in the sentence.

Besides that, "sections" is not the right word. "Parts" (or perhaps "segments") would be better.

And is there more than one school-age population?

"A private school benefits only certain parts of the school-age population."

If I understand your meaning, I suggest: Private schools benefit only some school-age populations.

As NKM says, there is only ONE school-age population. It is ALL the people of school age.

pop·u·la·tion n.
2. The total number of inhabitants constituting a particular race, class, or group in a specified area.

Private schools benefit only some parts of the school-age population.
or
A private school benefits only some members of the school-age population.
