Hello respected teachers,

Are both the following correct English?

You can make a smoothie by mixing fruits, such as bananas and strawberries, in a blender.

You can make a smoothie by mixing fruits such as bananas and strawberries in a blender.

I am not a teacher DOOM, I am giving my opinion.

Both sentences are correct.

Second one is yet slightly better.

IMO

Personally, I think the first one (with the commas) is better, just because I would say it with pauses in those places.

But both forms are acceptable.

The sentence with the commas is correct because the information between the commas is not critical to the meaning of the sentence. Plus, it improves the readability of the sentence -- which should not be taken lightly.
