The therapist massaged his face with oil.

"My eyes hurt." he said.
"What happens?" the therapist said.
"The oil go in my eyes." he said.

Is the preposition used correctly?

Should be

The oil has gone into my eyes. OR

The oil leaks into my eyes. OR
The oil has found way to my eyes. IMO

Just because the writer of an article is British doesn't mean that they use English correctly-DragOnspeaker.

Those are not natural.

Wilmar's "The oil went in my eyes" is fine. "... has gone" is also possible.

In my neck of the woods it is natural to say, "The oil got into my eyes." The shampoo got into my eyes". etc.
