Ernesto "Che" Guevara (1928)

Guevara was a Latin American revolutionary who developed guerrilla warfare as a tool for revolution. Born in Argentina, Guevara traveled widely as a medical student and became convinced that only violent revolt would end the poverty he witnessed. He joined the Cuban Revolution and became one of Fidel Castro's most trusted aides before leaving to foster revolutions elsewhere. He was killed in 1967 while directing a guerrilla movement in Bolivia. What is the meaning of Guevara's nickname, "Che"? More...

I still see a lot of young peeps wearin' T-shirts screened with the image of this murderin' marxist bastard. I wondered for a while if they were all communists, socialists, democrats, or just garden variety stupid. As it turns out, most of them were and are just ignorant. I wonder if today it would make any diff to them if they knew exactly who and what he was.

Che made a journey to South America, in order to spread Communism, after he had a falling out with Castro. He made his way to Bolivia, where he began causing havoc, and spreading the Communist gospel. {PS: he went to the Congo first, where he failed in spreading Communism through guerilla war.}

The Bolivian government requested American help to hunt Che down, and President Kennedy sent in a Green Beret team, in answer to it. The team trained and created a Ranger Battalion from the Bolivian Army, which ran Che into the ground. When he was captured, he was held for one day, and then summarily executed. His hands were cut off, as proof of his death. The he was buried in an unmarked grave.

IMHO, he deserved an ignominious death, because he was a snake. Mark me down as an opponent of him, and a despiser of those who wear his image on T-shirts.

PS: I realize this is a pretty brief synopsis of things, and I can be choppy in my writing, but I hope that I posted a comprehensible opinion.
