There is a quiz with today's grammar lesson (auxiliary vs. linking verbs)

5. What kind of linking verb is used in the following sentence?
“I’m not sure why, but David seems a bit unhappy today.”

a) To be
b) Sense verb
c) Verb of progression
d) None of the above

The correct answer would be "a and b" - with "am" linking "I" and "sure"; and "seems" linking "David" and "a bit unhappy".

Wyrd bið ful aræd - bull!
