Head back is similar to go back. But what one means when he says: "Head back to the future"?

Exactly what it says - go back to the future, where you have just come from.
It requires particular context to use it - where you have just travelled backwards in time. It is not a common phrase, for that reason!
Metaphorically 'the future' could be a place, or even a person. But that would depend entirely on context.

It's a play on words, with no substance to it. Like the movie title "Back to the future."
