argus-eyed

(adjective) Carefully observant or attentive; on the lookout for possible danger.

Synonyms: open-eyed, vigilant, wakeful

Usage: I prefer to be good because it is good to be good, rather than because I can't be bad because some argus-eyed old frump won't let me have a chance to be bad.

Yes, very rare as an adjective - classical allusions are no longer fashionable.
Very few people nowadays know their Olympian Mythology!

But it does live on in the names of many newspapers - because they see everything. d'oh!

Ah, Argus, slayer of Echidna, guardian of Io, champion of local newspapers everywhere!
