A hundred years ago there lived in Germany a creature
that the whole world was familiar with, just like today.

You must have heard of Clever Hans, the horse famous for
performing various intellectual tasks. For example, his handler
would write down A x ( -, +, :) B and he tapped out the result
- X taps and stopped. As a witness of such a feat, I surely
would have called him STABLE GENIUS, (referring to his lodgings).

Unfortunately, after a time the trickery was exposed.

Harass II, a dog used in criminal investigations, seems to be a better return on investment comparing with Clever Hans.
Strong attracting attention name for a dog in this example gives me a hope that it knows what it has been trained for.
A horse which is clever but impractical in application of his talents does not make me a supporter of his actions.

I am referring to names of both creatures and profit derived from them.
I am aware of the scale of wrong committed by their owners.

Could this thread perhaps have been inspired by a certain American President's referring to himself as a "stable genius"?

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
