It is used mostly to emphasize the power or ability to reach an outcome desired by one person or group.
- The long arm of justice has reached many Brazilian's politicians as a result of varies Federal Police operations, many of them still undergoing up to date.
- There is no place to be hidden against the long arm of King Charles, the Terrible (fiction)
- Afterwards, they faced the long arm of nature by paying the price for their relentless actions.
