Is this sentence grammatically correct?

Had I not followed my father's advice, I would not have been in this position.

It is grammatically OK. However, if you are referring to your present position, it is more usual to say:

"Had I not followed my father's advice, I would not be in this position."

If you are referring to a past position, it is more usual to say:

"Had I not followed my father's advice, I would not have been in that position."

Hi rkboddu!
Welcome to the forum.

As your question has been answered, I am going to discuss a little about the style.

This type of conditional sentence, using the reversal of subject and verb, is not not so common as it used to be.

It is still used, but many (I think most) native speakers of English would use a different form:

If I had not followed my father's advice, I would not have been in this position.
It would normally be said (and often written) as:
If I hadn't followed my father's advice, I wouldn't have been in this position.
