Yes.
" A distinctive pattern, product, or characteristic by which someone or something can be identified."

Another use is where you state that a chef has a signature dish.

Corrections: 'The baby always frowns' OR 'The baby is always frowning'.

"He has a signature frown", the father said. (to be a complete thought)

Can 'signature' be used this way? OR Can the word 'signature' be used this way?

And to answer your question: Can signature be used this way?
Yes, it means his identification, as shass has indicated. Applause

Bihunsedap -

Every time you write your name at the bottom of something,(When you buy a car, or move into a new house) you are writing your "signature." It's how we know it is YOU.

The baby can't write. How do we know he is this man's baby and not another one? Because his frown tells us who he is. It is *his* signature.

Does that help?
