This made me laugh. I thought it might be funny to some forum members.

Generation Gap

Her class assignment was to interview an "old person" about his life, so my niece asked me, "What was the biggest historical event that happened during your childhood?"

"I’d have to say the moonwalk," I replied.

She looked disappointed. "That dance was so important to you?"

Well, even the Michael Jackson's moonwalk happened a long time ago ;-)

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

True.

I just learned from the Internet that Michael Jackson did the moonwalk first time on stage, on March 25, 1983. The real moonwalk, by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, was on July 21, 1969.

Those Were The Days.

If you are 30 years old,
it must be a long, long time ago ;-)

It isn't a joke, it's an anecdote. Reader's Digest just fooled generations.

Whatson,

Because I can't see URLs I was surprised to find this hoary old conversation revived in the first person: - because written like that I thought it was being passed off as a personal anecdote!!Sick

It's so ubiquitous I hadn't known it first appeared in Readers Digest...but on reflection that comes as no surprise.Drool

Ro, the link takes you to a long list of jokes and anecdotes and plays on words about getting old - some are amusing and worth a smile. Might as well laugh as cry about it as everybody who is fortunate enough finds out what getting old is all about.
