Hello respected teachers,

Have I used twice and double correctly in the following paragraph?

The share of food in world spending is 24% which is twice as that of housing. Similarly, the share of housing is double that of clothing. In the meanwhile, transport accounts for 18% of the money spent throughout the world. Furthermore, the remaining 40% of the global expenditure is allocated to a variety of other items not mentioned on the pie chart.

Here is the relevant chart:

I am looking forward to your answers.

As adverbs the difference between twice and double is that twice is two times while double is twice over; twofold.

As an adjective double is made up of two matching or complementary elements.
As a noun double is twice the number, amount, size, etc.
As a verb double is to multiply by two. (Searched from net)

Hello D00M.

That's good (not perfect, but very good).

The share of food in world spending is 24% which is twice as that of housing.
You have two different idioms (styles) mixed up here - each one would work well, but the mixture doesn't. It also needs a comma.

The share of food in world spending is 24%, which is twice as that of housing.
The share of food in world spending is 24%, which is twice as much as that of housing.

The rest of the paragraph is fine, from my viewpoint.

Wyrd bið ful aræd - bull!
