Hello respected teachers,

What does 'otherwise some won't' mean in the following context?

To be honest, I'm not big on holidays. I don't really like all of the pressure and attention that go with them. The honest truth is I do often holidays as an excuse to get people together (otherwise some won't).

I am looking forward to your answers.

There seems to be a word missing from "… I do often [use/see/treat] holidays as …".

To answer your question, "otherwise some won't " must mean "without holidays as an excuse some people won't get together".
(It might be clearer if the preceding phrase were "an excuse for people to get together".)

Thank you teacher. Yes, the missing part was 'use'. Sorry for not being careful with my typing.

I am looking forward to your answers.
