Hi friend,

I watched an American series and found a sentence which I don't understand.

A guy accidentally found Coke in his book, and his friend standing beside him said:

"John, i'm shocked.
I thought you were Strictly an herbal man."

Could you please explain the bold sentence.

Does it mean "I thought you were strictly and a man who uses herb or likes herb"?

Thank you.

Strictly a herbal man, in these days is called 'a vegan'.

Noun 1. vegan - a strict vegetarian; someone who eats no animal or dairy products at all;

Neither uses animal products like fur, shoes, purses etc. -TFD

You need to stay in context.

This is contrasting something with cocaine.

So, what is 'not coke'?

What drug is an actual plant, not a processed extract of one, or synthetic?

And legal, in certain circumstances.

Urban dictionary:

Herbal
Reefer, Marijuana, Homegrown, Weed,
