Hello everybody!

I've just begun studying Dutch. I think it's a very interesting language and I'm earger to learn it!

But I'd like to ask you all a question: can you suggest me a web site for pronunciation? I mean, a sort of online dictionary that also has audio files for word pronunciation? Something like our dear "Free Dictionary"...

Thanx a lot!

Hi Anja Victoria,

At the moment I can not give you a website for dutch pronunciation, but next week I'll check it for you next week.
But I can help you with the dutch language, don't hesitate asking me questions about the dutch language.

I am Dutch, coming from the Netherlands, since five years living in Suriname.

Also try this:
http://www.dutchgrammar.com/en/?n=Audio.HomePage

Or
http://swac-collections.org/index.php and choose Dutch.

The pronounciation ("uitspraak" in Dutch) in http://nl.wiktionary.org/wiki/Hoofdpagina does not work on my computer, but you can try.

Hi,
I'm wanting to learn Dutch as well, so thanks for the useful websites.
I'm wondering if reading Dutch on wikipedia using alternatively google translator from English to Dutch and vice versa is a help,
since I'm just beginning. I can read Spanish fluently, and find the google translator pretty decent for such purposes.
Can anyone recommend any free/easy online books to read in Dutch? I'm going to start with Grimm's "Sprookjes".

Hi all,
I'm a Dutch native speaker also, and this is a good site for learning Dutch imho.
Everyone's welcome, both beginners and advances students. You can ask any questions you like and have your texts revised and corrected (with feedback) by native speakers.
Furthermore you can find lots of idioms and expressions explained in English with examples and pictures & video's , puzzles, games etc. It's all free and run by volunteers / Dutch native speakers so feel free to have a look:

Hello, everybody
I am Patricia from Argentina
I am learning Dutch as a true beginner, and I would to know if someone could recommend a good site for Dutch grammar, with explanations and examples (and if possible, with exercises online to practise)
I am also looking for some textbook that will help me learn faster, but I haven't found any yet.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Greetings from Argentina!!
Patricia

Hello!
If you want to learn Dutch on your own, I would suggest you to go to Knowble website (knowble.eu). They just launched an online language learning. It is really interesting. As they get the materials from the online news, you can improve your vocabulary by reading latest news.
You can get a month free trial by following them on twitter and ask them for the free trial code.

hope this helps.. :)

There is this website: http://ennl.dict.cc/
There are translations between English and many other languages and between German and many other languages. I suggest you go into the English/Dutch language forum and appeal for more Dutch speakers to put voice recordings in. There are very few, whereas in German there are often 3 records for the same word.

Perhaps some of the Dutch speakers on this forum could give help on dict.cc and make use of the other languages there.

I have just been playing Hangman in Dutch and correctly guessed the word "snurken". Then I went to the suggested Wiktionary in Dutch http://nl.wiktionary.org/wiki/
put the word "snurken" into where it said "Zoeken" and then under "uitspraak" you get the microphone symbol and it comes up with a lovely "ogg" audio file.
Many thanks to the person who first suggested Wiktionary.
