Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

In a year I lost three excellent ladies of my family, one, a sister ( I consider her my brother coz she stood by me through thick and thin and more so coz have no brother) and two perfect sisters-in-law through marriage whom I considered my sisters) in a year.
A perfect blow, the last on 12th April.

John Donne came to my rescue.

Though that is the law of Almighty, I am yet to come to the terms.

A classmate made me read the above poem to my salvage.

RIP, my GREAT SISTERs. I will remember you till my brain allows me to.
God permits I will meet you at God's abode.

I am so sorry for your great loss.

Yet as you show, they live still in you and in your love for them, and through you, they give their love still to the world.

Earlier than Donne came St Paul writing to the Romans: "death no longer is master."
and more recently the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas took up the theme:

Though lovers be lost, love shall not
and Death shall have no dominion.

Excellent words from all three.

I'm sorry for your loss and sadness.

Learning is its own reward, and it's fun too!

Your doubts are true.Brilliant question.

One was my wife's sister and another was her brother's wife.

Both of them are known as sister-in-law (sisters-in-law?) as per Indian English.

Ashwin, I'm sorry for you lost. I don't know what it's like to lose someone from my family, and I hope I never go through it.

"I am the way, and the life and the truth, no one comes to te Father if not through Me" - John 14:06

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” - John 4:23-24

I am the way, and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me. - John 14:6

My very sincere and nice firends, Thank you for your sensitivity, compassion and humanity! And for showing me that I am not alone in my grief. Condolences and sympathy are an attempt to take away part of my pain.
