Responsibility for the chemical event in Khan Sheikhoun is still very much in question.

Scott Ritter, as many but not all of you know, was a marine officer and the chief UN Weapons Inspector in the 90s who played an important role in making Saddam Hussein comply with requirements that he destroy his WMD at that time. Most importantly, he was one of the few who correctly argued that Saddam no longer had WMD in 2003. Below is an article he wrote for today’s Huffington Post that should be read because it casts doubt on the Trump Administration’s rationale for attacking Assad’s military bases.

It should be clear this is not a defense of Assad, but of the specific claim. He notes that one of the reasons Obama did not launch a similar attack in 2013 was that the strong case that Assad used chemical weapons that August turned out not to be so strong and he decided not to act. Trump, as far as anyone knows, made minimal, if any. similar fact-gathering efforts.

Thanks for the link to the Scott Ritter article. Unfortunately, at more than 140 characters, it's probably above tRump's reading level.

[1] Fair-minded people do NOT read the Huffington Post.

a. It has referred to President Trump's administration as "sexist and racist."

i Thus it proves that it is NOT a creditable source of news.

[2] Good to hear that.

Have a nice day!

I thought fair-minded people were supposed to read all the facts before making up their minds? But now apparently you don't trust them enough to read certain sources. You forget that fair-mindedness is about also being exposed to opinions you don't necessarily agree with.

Fair-minded people can handle criticism and are not thin-skinned so that they check to see if what the source says is true. They do not remain blinded to the facts by loyalty. Parser once called me naive - so I return the compliment after reading his last post.

We heard Trump's own voice making sexist comments and women said he made unwanted sexual advances. His ex wife accused him of anger issues and rape. He has targeted blacks in his business dealings and is now targeting Muslims. He said he preferred Christians as immigrants. And when the head is like that so will be the body - including when Trump placed, of all people, Bannon and what he stands for, in the White House!

Fair-minded people may still watch Fox News even though they always keep in mind that they know that the founder and CEO Ailes and now the top anchor have finally been exposed as not only sexist and racist but have sexual harassment allegations against them. O'Reilly has hypocritically blasted out his Conservative holier-than-thou family values critcizing everyone when he himself has paid millions in dollars to silence women who say he has harassed them for over ten years while Fox News covered it up.

Now that the sponsors are pulling their ads maybe Fox News will do something about it. O'Reilly has gone on vacation and some fair-minded people hope he won't be back to Fox News.

Side story about media - I don't usually post links when I don't know the source, but this seems to have the history of this story. They are known for their journalism, especially after they changed their practices after being criticized for publishing one untrue story.

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-roger-ailes-built-the-fox-news-fear-factory-20110525

"Republicans originally thought that Fox worked for us," said David Frum, the former Bush speechwriter. "Now we’re discovering that we work for Fox."

The above article was written before Ailes resigned in disgrace because of sexual misconduct allegations.

If anyone doesn't like Vox there are other links besides this one with the Fox News story.
