- go with somebody's gut
- go with somebody's instinct

Do these two mean the same?

Here's an example of "go with somebody's gut":

Hi Fruity.

It is another pun. The green one uses both meanings at the same time.

gut instinct
An intuition or feeling, as opposed to an opinion based on a logical analysis. My gut instinct about Kara's new boyfriend proved correct when we discovered he had a pretty extensive criminal history.

Farlex Dictionary of Idioms

I've never heard "go with your gut" as a phrase (always 'follow your gut instinct') but it means the same.

Most people like fruit-tasting drinks. Pineapple and papaya is a really nice mixture.
So, they have an instinct to drink such things. So, "go with your gut" means 'trust your instinct' and 'drink good fruit drinks'.

But also, these fruits are good for the gut (digestive organs).
So, "go with your gut" means 'drink things which are good for your digestion'.

Both meanings in one statement.

Hi Fruity,

DragO sir

So, "go with your gut" means 'drink things which are good for your digestion'.

So, "go with your gut" means 'eat, (of drink course, also) things which are good for your digestion'.IMO.

Go with your gut is commonly heard, as is, trust your instincts, rather than go with your instincts.
