Having missed the Bangalore Test with another injury, opener Murali Vijay will slot back for his 50th Test, putting Abhinav Mukund back on the bench

What is the grammatical form and function of "having"?
Is "having...injury" a participial phrase functioning adverbially?
Thanks

Having missed the Bangalore Test with another injury - is a participial phrase, acting as an adverbial clause of reason (sometimes called: reduced adverbial clauses), which is the same as: Because the opener Murali Vijay has missed the bangalore test with another injury, he will slot back for his 50th test.

putting Abhinav Mukund back on the bench
- is also a participial phrase acting as an adverbial clause showing result: Opener Murali Vijay will slot back for his 50th Test, putting Abhinav Mukund back on the bench (putting Abhinav Mukund back on the bench shows the result of the previous events).

I am the way, and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me. - John 14:6
