I'm watching this YouTube video now. I wonder what accent Guy Winch has. Does he have an American accent?

He is probably European, rather than American

Not at all an American accent.

Certainly not US - maybe Middle East?

Maybe you could ask him directly:

I'm not sure if he will answer the question or not, though.

Was the video filmed within the last month or so?.. according to several bios he is American, perhaps he’s recently decided to pretend he’s not.

In the video, he talks about crossing the Atlantic to attend university in New York, leaving his twin brother behind. My several Google searches demonstrated that he is an unusually difficult person to get that sort of background information on. His accent suggests he was taught English by a British person, but that his mother tongue was something else. His LinkedIn profile mentions attending Tel Aviv University, so Israel is my best guess as his birthplace.

I do not hear that accent in anyway as someone that was taught by a British person but that just me.

I lack the imagination for a witty signature.

He grew up in Jerusalem.

Still a definite 'foreign' accent. Can't hear anything particularly British in there, but I only listened for a second.

Once you know, it certainly matches other Israeli accents.

But presumably he has picked up bits from whoever taught him, and wherever he has lived and worked in his life.
