Someone misspelled a word and corrected it. No big deal. It happened to me just the other day, and to many others here on the forum all the time.

There's a difference between not knowing how to spell a word, or simply making a typing mistake, and not kwnowing how and when a word is correct - and when it isn't.

Words matter; words matter even more when you've got tens of millions of people reading them.

...and when you are firing word missiles at another country with nuclear capabilities -

then words really mattre

er, oops, meant matter.

FounDit is spot on. After all, Trump would not have written it himself. Someone, perhaps a personnel, must have quoted him in writing. There is many a slip between the cup and the lip.

The story of English spelling is the story of thousands of people - some well-known, most totally unknown - who left a permanent linguistic fingerprint on our orthography.

Donald Trump accuses China of 'unpresidented' act over US navy drone.

Don't know the source of this statement, but I am in line with other posters that this is a typo.

Although when I first read the sentence, it looked like a play on words or deliberate misspelling. Like in ads we normally see, a car service agency can be "Kar-care". This is done just to catch readers' attention. The newspapers also make such deliberate misspellings (or tweaked spellings).

Sacriledge! It's "realDonaldTrump" not a cheap copy. Sent from his mobile.

I can't get a screenshot here, but you'll find one in the Times of India.

Just a funny typo/'Freudian slip'.

ALE - Ash Lingua English.
Based on the Norman-French 'matesre' via Xhosa and Algonquin.

With all respect to everyone, Trump, in fact, DOES write his own tweets as DragOn so concisely pointed out, His surrogates have tried many times to actually take his phone away from him, Does anyone think people are following this guy around his home from 2-6am, they are not. If you watch some of his vids on YouTube and read some of his tweets then you will come to the conclusion that HE believes he is ALWAYS right and can't spell or contextually use words any better than a 10yr old. On top of it all, this man is a narcissistic, Islamophobic, megalomaniacal lunatic.

If thought the writer actually believed the correct word to be unpresidented (which I don't), it could be an eggcorn.

Could be DragOnspeaker and OnTheVerge are right. Notwithstanding the merits or demerits of Trump's sayings and writings, I just said that it might be a typo.
