Is vague used widely by native English speakers? and what are the possible ways of using this word in sentences?

Vague is a word that is used by native English speakers.
An example of it's use might be this conversation, just to be seasonal.
Mary' How many people are coming to the Christmas Party tonight? I need to know how many mince pies to make.'
John' We have not had replies from everyone but I think around 20 or 30'
Mary' 20 or 30 that's a little vague'

I lack the imagination for a witty signature.

It is used in four main ways, I think.
It is just one syllable - /veɪɡ/

1. (vision) blurred, unclear, difficult to see.
I could see a vague outline through the mist, but didn't know if it was a person or not.
There was a vague image of a man's face, but no-one would be able to recognise who it was.

2. (speech/writing) imprecise, not clearly stated.
Politicians make vague promises, but never say specifically what they will do.
The witness's description of the murdered was so vague that it was useless.

3. (knowledge) imprecise, not definite
I have a vague idea of how to bake bread.
The student's knowledge of grammar seemed rather vague.

4. (people) absent-minded, not clear-thinking
He's always a bit vague in the mornings, till he's had two coffees.
People are often rather vague after a shock.

The adverb "vaguely" is also fairly common:
I could see vaguely through the mist.
The witness vaguely described the murderer as 'probably a man, average height, average weight, blond - or maybe dark'.
I vaguely know how to bake bread.
After the bomb went off outside his house, he looked at me vaguely and said "I'll put the kettle on."

Thank you so much! I am very clear about the word now. I will start using it :)
