I just had to share this ;-)

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I once saw a video of a police officer parked his car to play basketball with some kids on the street.

Same spirit.

It is easy to blame cops when something goes wrong but don't forget that they do good too :)

What a wonderful video! You could see how her whole demeanor changed when she realized that all the officer wanted to do was give her some ice cream. It would be great if all police departments did this kind of thing, as it would reduce the tension and problems which often happens when police and citizens come into contact with each other. It would also be great if the general public would do and say nice things to police officers as well. They often have a difficult and dangerous job to do everyday.

Peace.

The world would be nicer if our focus were on these stories more frequently than the stories that cover the negative aspects of our humanity.

Kudos to JJ for bringing this to the forum. Gave me warm fuzzies!

Thanks. Listening. There ARE all kinds of good people (and animals) in the world - actually most of us are. It is the minority that we hear about. They make the most noise plus the media needs sensationalism to sell their wares these days.

(Whatever happened to the five-minute news on the hour on the radio? Now my age is showing. lol)

Anyhow, love the feel-good stories.

These are the videos TiMonster mentioned earlier.
They're from Gainesville Police Dept.

The first match.

Bringing backup.

Thanks, Drago. I had seen a shorter version of the second one before but it is well worth seeing again. SHAQ is a big man, inside and out. I bet those kids stay out of trouble. They were pretty good players. SHAQ had to be careful not to trip over them. :D

Most cops are good and handle things well like this. It is the few who shouldn't be cops who give the whole group a bad name, as usual. And of course, those are the incidents we hear about, not the ones as in this video. There have been videos on Facebook where cops went out of their way to help people and to even give their own money.

I recall recently where a person would not sit near a group of policemen, both black and white, I believe, so they paid for that person's food.

It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.
