I had a small wreck at my post office and had car insurance to take care of it. The State Patrol came and filled out papers that I had a wreck and I had to go to city hall about the wreck. The charge is about twenty dollars without going to court, my question is if I had car insurance, why do I have to pay anything to city hall? Paul

Presumably you insured against damage to your car but not against any legal fees that might be incurred in reporting such damage. You will almost certainly not be insured against any legal fees if you have to go to court.

If I understand this correctly, you had an accident with your car and this was rather damaged. That is not nice for you and it probably gave you a bad-hair day.
I suggest you read your insurance policy carefully or have someone read it to you so that you can get some closure to this unfortunate situation.
I hope you were not alone when this happen. You have written in the past that you have Alzheimer syndrome, so I would recommend that you never travel alone.

While I am sorry you had an accident and glad you are alright the $20 strikes me as fine for a traffic violation. when you pay you fee please be sure to as why as it is your right. Good luck and I am glad you are okay.

Sounds like the charge is for a traffic violation to me as well.
