I love watching this show!! As a child, I would always prefer JERRY, the mouse to TOM, the cat. I used to find Jerry "A cute little thing" but now I prefer Tom.( Phew!...this TIME I tell you, changes everything!).I don't like it when Tom is just so mercilessly thrashed up by Jerry( sadly, this happens often!)..no offense meant to Jerry Lovers! So who prefers who? This is just for fun!!

I love both of them, grew up watching them and then my sons grew up loving them too. I used to video the 5 minute cartoons and put them all together on one tape so they could watch them continuously whenever they felt like it. My all time favourite is "The Night Before Xmas" and you can guarantee it is always shown on TV here in the UK every christmas holiday. Brilliant. I feel sorry for Tom, he's as driven as Jerry. Tom seems never to learn.

It is most fascinating when you witness an actual Tom stalk, charm, and liquidate an actual Jerry. That is reality!!

Tom is driven not by hatred but by hunger. He is a victim, however, of his own stupidity.
Jerry, on the other hand, is just a link in the food chain. His salvation is his intelligence, quick wit and diminutive size.
My preference leans toward Jerry. A true survivor that speaks volumes for brains over brawn without ever saying a word.

yes Tom is always the one left in the misery while Jerry with his petite form and intelligence always gets the supports. It seems Walt Disney was using the old mediocre of picturing a good character and a bad character euuuuuuuy...i am glad that the new era doesnt use that ole same things again , but somehow i always support the underdog team like Tom, Donald, Brutus and others, they are conditioned victims of their physiques.

My kindergarten kids love watching Tom and Jerry. Although non-verbal cartoon without dialogues, somehow the kids could understood. We have two hours video +computer class a week. Disney series(Mickey Mouse), pink panther, Tom and Jerry...Guess what? Their favorite is Tom and Jerry(even repeatedly watched many times).
