I heard it rumoured once that "less is more" which is mathematically impossible. You can't fool me, MORE is always more!

Context from the Preface of The altar of the dead

"I dare say, to conclude, that whenever, in quest, as I have noted, of the amusing, I have invoked the horrific, I have invoked it, in such air as that of The turn of the screw, that of The jolly corner, that of The friends of the friends, that of Sir Edmund Orme, that of The real right thing, in earnest aversion to waste and from the sense that in art economy is always beauty. The apparitions of Peter Quint and Miss Jessel, in the first of the tales just named, the elusive presence nightly ‘stalked’ through the New York house by the poor gentleman in the second, are matters as to which in themselves, really, the critical challenge (essentially nothing ever but the spirit of fine attention) may take a hundred forms – and a hundred felt or possibly proved infirmities is too great a number."

Yes, you are right.

There may be beauty in economy, economy can't always be beauty. Some may need a generous bikini, or bath robe.

It's hard to make sense of non-American. Apatride?
Sometimes ''less is more'', under certain condition. It is a requirement to understand complex functions developed by Augustin-Louis Cauchy. (vide: oscillator) But it is not in your case, definitely.

In your sentence, a word ''more'' should be written using small letters. At this instance, ''less is more'' is, again, correct.
Dancing

Next time I will try something new, but now I cannot resit temptation to watch Drool

Jamesian, to profess economy even as logorrhea is practiced.
