The U.S. President D. Trump allegedly has committed another, allegedly ill-conceived blunder. But I don't understand voiced opinion about his bad choice. What is 'a navy blazer'? Isn't is something other in comparison to the blue tie?

I cannot see anything wrong with the choice of a blue tie in this situation at all.

The "navy blazer" is a dark-blue jacket, which (supposedly) should not be worn with black trousers.

If only that were the extent of Mr. Trump's problems!

NKM has answered the question.

Really silly for the media to talk about distractions such as clothing when there are so many important problems to solve, but at least they are starting to treat males and critique their appearance similarly to the way they have always done with females.

Did you know Obama actually wore a tan suit which was "not presidential"? 😮
(He looked pretty good in it too - but of course I liked him for his brain. Whistle )

Equality is when you see a person - not a label.

The "error" of wearing a navy jacket with black trousers is that a real navy-blue (the colour of officers uniform or "Blues" in the Royal Navy) is almost black.

These are officer's blues:

When you wear black and navy, it looks like you have tried to buy matching clothes and failed.

Yeah, this whole 'matching' thing has really passed me by. If I wear two socks the same I feel it is a missed opportunity! Whistle
