The High Priest teaches that the life condition of true happiness can be opened forth by the mystic Law.

Is 'opened forth' correct? I think 'opened' is correct.

Thanks.

They both sound correct - 'opened forth' sounds more mystic and 'posher'.

No. As a non-native, I'm eager to know how native speakers say or write. That's why whenever I see some writing by non-natives, which sounds wrong to me I will submit my post. Our reporters are non-native too, so I will also post anything they write, which sounds wrong to me, to the forums.

I hope that clarifies my reason for posting to the forum.

Wilmar - Koh's been part of the forum for a long time, as you can see. She really is dedicated to her English learning which is why we all like helping her.

Koh - Drago - I'm sorry: once again I come barging in at the end: but have just seen this now. And I disagree with you both.

I don't see how happiness can be 'opened forth'? One can open the path, the doorway, the portal, to happiness. But happiness isn't a box. One doesn't open it.

The word 'forth' means 'out' or 'away'. Coupled with 'open' then, we would be taught to "open happiness away from ourselves"?

See what I mean?

"True happiness can be opened onward."
Really mystic and posh ;-)

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Kind words are indispensable thing for proselytization.
