“The Five Precepts”, taught in the Pre-Lotus Sutra teachings, teaches that if one keeps the Five Precepts, one will be reborn as a human.

Is the sentence OK with taught and teaches?

Thanks.

Five Precepts is plural so it would be (they) teach.

If you are asking about mixing tenses, they are fine.

The five precepts do not teach you that if you keep the five precepts . . .
The five precepts are simply the precepts themselves, with no explanation.

The Pre-Lotus Sutra teaches one that, if one keeps the Five Precepts, one will be reborn as a human.
