Oh. For some reason I thought you lived a lot lot further south.

What a wonderful back yard! I'm envious. I used to have an A of woods around me and I miss it sometimes.

We saw Matthew Perry on Jimmy Kimmel the other night tell about how he and his friend were jealous and beat up Justin Trudeau at school in Ottawa. His father was PM and in those days they didn't even need security!

Justin is actually a pretty good boxer now. Tweet was an April Fool's joke.

Hope, I think it is hilarious that People magazine took this seriously.

Epi, here is Matthew Perry's response - cute.

As I mentioned Trudeau is an excellent boxer and won a match against a Conservative MP a few years ago as an MP before he became PM. It is actually what put his name out there for a lot of people. He also sparred a couple of rounds in fun with a newspaper interviewer - I think it was recently - before they did the interview, so that is probably why "People" might have wondered, but it should have only been wondering at first...

Edited - it is fun to see celebrities have a bit of fun with each other!

LOL yes Hope, having been a school bus driver for the last 9 years I have come to enjoy the early morning very much. On work days I set my alarm for 0400 and wake up to it, oddly though on weekends with no alarm I usually wake up between 0330 and 0345.
I should have taken another picture from the same spot yesterday afternoon, the temperature had gone up to 57 degrees F. and the foot of snow on that table was nearly completely gone, so it really was like a Mother Nature's April Fools joke.

Bloomsbury-me - I'm sure your article will be helpful to others who don't know about April 1st traditions.

However, just one historical point: in fact a day of 'fooling around' at that time of the year has been part of our culture centuries BEFORE any calendar changes etc. It is thought (though not actually known) that it has been a celebration due to the appearance of Spring.

Also:- part of the explanation about calendars etc. was provided by a person who, himself, was playing an April 1st joke!

(ps: why did you call the information you found 'random'? Although not completely accurate, it seemed to be well-presented and set out chronologically. What did you find in it that was unnecessary or disjointed? Just curious.)
