Is it correct to say "After you" or "Go ahead" to mean "You go first"?

Both are correct, but "After you" is more common since "Go ahead" actually mean "Continue".

You can say anything you wish (whatever makes sense in the circumstances) - or nothing, just the gesture or a noticeable step back.

A fairly common one (where there is a queue, for example) is 'you were first' or 'you first'.

But I think that, as JJ says, "After you" is VERY common.

The consideration is where everybody is going.
The actions such as going to a washroom, a fair, a doctor’s clinic, a lawyer’s chamber, a ticket counter, boarding a rail compartment, entering a concert or a cinema hall or an interview room or a lift chamber are governed by rules and social customs. There can’t be a universal rule as to who will enter first. The emergency, the courtesy, the gender, the compulsion, the compassion, the age and certain special conditions as those of the newlyweds' will have to be taken into consideration in such situations.

Whatever, commonsense definitely plays a role.

Common sense is not always very common!

In the given context, I would not prefer to say "Go ahead". It does not fit here. As told earlier, it says to continue, but it does not say what I will do. The scenario conveys that I am going to follow you. Saying "You first" or "After you" makes it clear that I am to follow after you exit.
