Some people say that Polish is one of the most difficult languages for English speakers to learn. I wonder what kind of problems encounter those of you who study Polish?
How do you cope with difficulties, especially the ones connected to inflection and pronunciation?

Zapraszam do gry językowej w sąsiednim wątku.

jmacann, co miałeś na myśli, pisząc "poręczny"?

jmacann, what did you mean by "poręczny"?

Polish word "poręczny" means more or less the same as: "handy" or "convenient".

GabhSigenod, you can check how good your Polish is reading Polish websites (for instance articles on www.wp.pl) or even watching some cartoons for Polish children (which you can do here: http://www.bajkidladzieci.org). There are also many useful online courses. For example here http://www.polish.polygloto.com/free-trials you will find a few free lessons both for beginners and pre-intermediate students.

GabhSigenod, nie ma za co.

By the way, be careful with a google translator. "Grzywna" means the same as "a fine" - a sum of money you have to pay when, for instance, you break the speed limit. The word you were probably looking for is "prawidziwy" (real, fine - an adjective).

"Jesteś prawdziwym dżentelmenem".

Tak, trudności związane z kontekstu jest trudne do zniesienia.
Marzę o umiejętności językowe podobne do wyświetlanych przez Karol Józef Wojtyła.

Dla dodania otuchy dla osób chcących uczyć się języka polskiego polecam film o wymowie trudnego zdania "W Szczebrzeszynie chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHizInxsBz8

To add encouragement for people who want to learn Polish I would like to recommend a film about the pronunciation of a difficult sentence (tongue twister) "W Szczebrzeszynie chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie" (In Szczebrzeszyn the beetle sounds in the reed):

Greetings!

Greetings, Michał
