Is the following sentence correct as it stands?

Die Ente schwimmt auf dem See.

And, is it (nominative case) der Giraffe or die Giraffe?

Петя hat Recht. Es ist die Giraffe, der Löwe und das Nashorn. Furchtbar, nicht wahr? Whistle

Just to give complete information:
auf can be connected with dative and with accusative

The cat is sleeping on the couch. Die Katze schläft auf der Couch. Dative for where-indication.
The cat jumped on the table. Die Katze sprang auf den Tisch. Accusative : verb of movement + where-to-indication.
