I got the book as a Christmas present - and can't decide whether to read it. What I read about the book is a bit weird.
Well, the SF idea that the world has drowned in a gigantic flood with a few survivors - two women - isn't so bad.

I have read Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale - a kind of SF theme with a very dreary atmosphere - very impressive.
And I know another Canadian author Michael Ondaatje. His novel The English Patient is really a fascinating book and the film is worth seeing.

Has anyone read The Year of the Flood? Is reading the book worthwile?

Oh dear, Roger,

Yes, I read the book - but I honestly cannot remember much about it at all. I know that doesn't help you but I thought perhaps the very fact that it didn't leave any kind of impression on me might be a comment in its own right?

Very informative, Romany,

a book that doesn't leave an everlasting impression can't be so good. Thanks for the information.
