What is the difference between "wholly", "entirely" and "completely"?


A river dries up entirely/completely

I ate it up wholy/completely

Have you tried looking up the word definitions in an online dictionary? Any specific questions about those definitions?

As adverbs, the difference between completely and wholly is that completely is (manner) in a complete manner; fully; totally; utterly while wholly is completely and entirely; to the fullest extent.
