Which of them is correct or are they both correct:

1) He was on his way, and "having wondered" what was in the sack given to him by the man, he opened it.

2) He was on his way, and "having been wondered" what was in the sack given to him by the man, he opened it.

On his way where?

# 1 is unnatural.
#2 is incorrect.

You need something like After wondering for some time what was in the sack ...

Here's an opinion... "having been wondered" is wrong.

I am sure you would. Their posts are usually detailed and helpful.

However, as I have suggested in other threads, they are people who give up a lot of their free time to help you and other members. It is very demanding of you to press them to respond to your questions.

Also, I did give up a little time to post my response. It may well not give you all the information you need, but it is not very tactful to follow my response with a stark expression of your desire to hear the opinions of others.

Or should it be just:

He was on his way, and "wondering" what was in the sack given to him by the man, he opened it.

A person with a sense of entitlement in this forum might:

Regularly bump threads and/or start new threads on the same subject if they are not getting the attention they think they deserve as quickly as they want, ignoring the possible needs of other members;

Often demand the attention of certain responders to deal with their questions, ignoring the fact that these people might need some free time of their own, or time to deal with the questions of other members

Start a very large number of of threads with the result that thread started by other members may get lost.

That'll do for starters.
