I certainly do NOT speak Chinese.

But I DO know that the "easy" part of Chinese is that one does not inflect verbs.

That is to say, Chinese verbs NEVER change form to show "tense."

Let's say that the Chinese character for "eat" is X.

1. Yesterday I X. = in the Chinese mind, they know that it refers to the "past." English speakers would translate it as "ate."

2. Tomorrow I X. (I know that you have gotten the idea, so I shall end my post.)
